LORENTZ receives Energy Globe Award

PSk2 installation for drinking water in Cape Verde

LORENTZ is honored to have received the Energy Globe Award for a sustainable drinking water project in Cape Verde, Africa.

The project involves a LORENTZ PSk2 solar water pumping system installed and implemented by LORENTZ Partner GTEK Lda.

The pump delivers up to 185m³ of water per day, supplying water to the local community of São Filipe for around 4,000 people – purely using solar energy. The water is pumped by a solar generator of 40 kWp from a 130m deep well depth and then pumped into a 50m deep steel reservoir.

Advanced remote monitoring and management features are part of this solution and available to Android mobile phones via Bluetooth connection. This means better utilization time past sun hours while also having the option to reach higher water output if demand increases.

We are proud to be part of this successful project which is bringing water to thousands of people in São Filipe – in a way that is less energy intensive than previous methods, cost effective and good for the environment!
